Roll Up Roll Up! Celebrate 250 years of Circus in Britain with spectacular exhibition in Sleaford6/1/2018
"Being part of the national programme marking 250 years of Circus has given us the opportunity to explore the rich 'design' aspects of the artform through contemporary costume, photographs, original posters from the 1800s to the present day in conjunction with live acts and more.
The showcase is complemented by an ongoing programme of live aerial acts with star attraction pieces by Performers in Residence, Claire Crook (Madam Mango) and Rio Willett. On the rope, Claire Crook explores the idea of body image in Circus; focussing on what the body can do, not what it looks like, that makes you special. Rio Willett’s aerial hoop displays are a feat of strength and spectacle. This exhibition is open until Sunday 8 July and is free admission. The National Centre for Craft and Design is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
This walk is walk 19 of the Stepping Out Collection and is 6 miles long. Why not try it today? Here's our directions to get you started. Don't forget you can also download the iFootpath app and get turn by turn directions straight to your phone!
North Kesteven is a district of picturesque villages and exquisite medieval churches, a living landscape steeped in history and rich in wildlife.
“This event brings the community together!” says Donna Sutton, Events Manager for Better in North Kesteven. “We have people take part from all over the county not to mention the UK but it’s great to see everyone supporting each other along the way whether they know each other or not. That’s what makes the challenge what it is.”
