The millers will be busy at Cogglesford Watermill, Sleaford, on Sunday 14 August as the huge water wheel rumbles into action for their regular milling day.
This month will have a Lincolnshire twist; visitors will have the chance to see bread making demonstrations by Sherry Forbes from the Manor House Stables in Martin, or try a selection of delicious preserves homemade by M H Preserves.
Select Lincolnshire will also be in attendance on the day raising awareness of using local produce and celebrate the very best of what Lincolnshire has to offer for both businesses and consumers.
The shop also features items from local suppliers and producers, such as honey, jams, curds, chutneys, woodcrafts, books, card, gifts, souvenirs and much more.
The mill has been producing flour since the early 18th century and the mill has been beautifully preserved by North Kesteven District Council, giving a real insight into milling in days gone by.
Visitors can see the huge cogs and wheels use the power of the water wheel to turn the mill stones, producing wholemeal flour using certified organic wheat. Whilst you’re there you can learn about the history of the mill and its millers, try your hand at grinding grain and explore the mill. Why not take home a reminder of your day with a bag of Cogglesford Watermill’s very own flour, on sale in the shop. The milling will take place between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
